History

CODE is a private state-accredited university of applied sciences for digital product development and entrepreneurship based in Berlin, Germany.

CODE was established in 2017. Its founders wanted a new type of university, one with a unique learning concept that emphasizes project-based learning, practical skills development, and real-world experience.

Students are encouraged to work on interdisciplinary projects throughout their studies which enable them to solve real-life problems. Students work in teams and develop problem-solving, interpersonal, leadership and entrepreneurial skills. The learning concept is designed to keep up with the latest trends and technologies in the digital world, and the faculty consists of experienced professionals from the tech industry.

International Admissions

CODE attracts a diverse student body from all over the world. Currently there are over 50 nationalities represented in its student population. International students make up a significant portion of the CODE community and benefit from the opportunity to study in Berlin, a vibrant and innovative tech hub in Europe.

CODE provides support for international students through various services, such as a student buddy program, German language classes, counseling, workshops and clubs. Omar Badawy - Software Engineering Student

After joining CODE I decided to really focus on learning programing in detail with all its facets and different variations of the field. In the process of doing so, I've met some really inspiring individuals who've kept pushing me to strive higher and taught me very valuable lessons. Now I am the Co-Founder and CTO of Mytreety, a sustainable marketplace with 11 employees and 50 business partners. Crazy to think how quickly things have switched over the course of a few years.

I used to be a B2B salesperson in Asia and was selling mechanical components. Although it was a great experience, I was often frustrated that the sales result depended on the customer's production plan rather than how much effort I put in. This made me want to do software engineering in which I can directly see the relation between my effort and the outcome.

Project Based Learning at CODE helped me a lot to have practical team working experience which "traditional" universities would not teach. In the last semester, I made an AI to detect bird species from their sound. Besides that, I am also working as a Full Stack Engineer and building shipment tracking systems. I'm excited to solve more and harder problems for the rest of my CODE life!
